Anamaria Schindler
Expanding global partnerships
Anamaria Schindler has developed expertise in forming joint ventures between the business and social sectors. She brings her experience to Ashoka, where she has run the Citizen Base Initiative (CBI), strategizing with organizations on how to effectively sustain themselves by broadening their base of support and forming corporate partnerships. She has created the Ashoka-McKinsey Center for Social Entrepreneurship in São Paulo, a pilot collaboration where top management consultants work with Ashoka Fellows on their organizational models. Anamaria has since expanded the partnership to Mexico, Argentina, and the Andes. She is now connecting Ashoka with global firms in financial services, law, marketing, and public relations.
Prior to joining Ashoka, Anamaria pursued doctoral studies in sociology at the University of São Paulo, with a research focus on new forms of philanthropy in contemporary Brazilian society. She has twelve years of previous experience as a researcher and consultant on civil society issues and human rights.
Anamaria brings expertise and insight to the global partnerships she forges between social sector organizations, corporations, and consultants.
